StandardAero Wins Predictive Engine Maintenance Contract Supporting the United States Air Force’s F100-220 Engine Program
The F100-220 engine powers the F-15 fighter
StandardAero (NYSE: SARO), a leading independent pure-play provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services including engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and engine component repair, today announced an award from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to apply Maintenance Insight™, StandardAero’s predictive maintenance, readiness and reliability diagnostic tools, to the F100-220 engine program, which powers over 175 F-15 aircraft. This award expands StandardAero’s Maintenance Insight support to the fifth engine type in the USAF fleet.
Maintenance Insight is a suite of sophisticated reliability models and predictive maintenance tools developed over the last two decades to support major defense platforms. Hosted on the USAF cloud computing ecosystem, these tools utilize artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital twin technologies to analyze failure modes of engines and provide predictive outputs that inform decisions on work scoping, deployment planning, and preventative maintenance. Propulsion leadership utilize these real-time outputs to optimize readiness, reliability and costs associated with the maintenance performed on these engines.
“The Air Force has been on the leading edge of Predictive Maintenance philosophy and implementation, and StandardAero is proud to have been part of that journey,” said Marc Drobny, President of the StandardAero Military, Helicopters and Energy Division. “We are excited to partner once again with the USAF’s Propulsion team on the critical F100-220 military platform. Our solution can deliver long term reduction of maintenance costs, and improvements in deployment readiness and time on wing for the fleet. We stand ready to expand this solution to other engine platforms powering USAF aircraft, as well as commercial aerospace fleets.”
Together with the USAF’s Propulsion team, StandardAero has successfully developed diagnostic and predictive maintenance applications for multiple engine fleets, including the T56 engine powering the C-130 fleet, the J85 engine powering the T-38 fleet, the TF33 engine powering the B-52 fleet, and the TF39 engine.
StandardAero is a leading independent pure-play provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services for fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, serving the commercial, military and business aviation end markets. StandardAero provides a comprehensive suite of critical, value-added aftermarket solutions, including engine maintenance, repair and overhaul, engine component repair, on-wing and field service support, asset management and engineering solutions.
