Eirion Risk Underwriters Launches New Inland Marine Program
New program brings a broad Inland Marine appetite to Eirion’s growing specialty platform, with up to $25 million in capacity and direct broker access to dedicated Inland Marine underwriters
Eirion Risk Underwriters, LLC (“Eirion”), a specialty managing general agent, today announced the launch of its new Inland Marine program. The program brings a broad appetite for Inland Marine business and marks the latest step in the growth of Eirion’s multi-line specialty platform. Since its launch in 2022, Eirion has expanded from its flagship Builders Risk offering into a full product suite that now includes Builders Risk, Property, Construction Professional Liability, Terrorism, and Inland Marine.
The program provides up to $25 million in capacity backed by A+ (XV)-rated paper in all 50 states. Business can be written on an admitted or non-admitted basis using AAIS and proprietary forms, and multiple Inland Marine coverages can be packaged on a single policy. The offering builds on the same disciplined approach behind Eirion’s Builders Risk appetite and fits naturally within its construction and property products, giving producers a single market for a wider range of accounts.
The program will be led by Kellan Quinn, Founder of Eirion, and Megan Rutherford, Assistant Vice President. Quinn brings more than 21 years of Inland Marine underwriting experience and will guide the program’s underwriting strategy. Rutherford will lead day-to-day underwriting and producer relationships. She joins Eirion from Starr Specialty’s Inland Marine practice, where she underwrote a broad range of Inland Marine — from small business accounts to large schedules — with an extensive producer network.
“Inland Marine is a natural extension of what we already do well,” said Quinn. “Producers know us for a broad Builders Risk appetite built on consistent, disciplined underwriting, and this program takes the same approach to Inland Marine. We pair meaningful capacity with more than two decades of class expertise, and we underwrite every account on its merits. For producers, that means a market with real appetite and real answers.”
“Joining Eirion to build and help lead this program is an exciting opportunity,” said Rutherford. “We can give producers meaningful capacity backed by an A+ (XV)-rated carrier, flexible coverage options, and direct access to an underwriting team that understands the Inland Marine space.”
Program Capabilities and Appetite
The program will consider a broad range of Inland Marine risks. Available coverages include Contractors Equipment, Installation Floaters, Riggers Legal Liability, and Equipment Sales & Rental, along with miscellaneous exposures such as mobile medical equipment, scheduled property floaters, Bailee’s coverage, and radio tower and television equipment.
