What Happened?
On August 6, 2026, CVRx reported second quarter earnings, including that "In May of 2026, [the Company] received a civil investigative demand from the U.S. Department of Justice related to certain sales and marketing practices.” The Company disclosed the Department of Justice demand “requested information and documents regarding an investigation into whether we caused the submission of false claims to government health insurance programs by improperly marketing our device, offering or paying kickbacks to healthcare providers or providing false information to government health insurance programs.”
CVRx further lowered its full-year revenue guidance to $58 million–$60 million from $63 million–$67 million, and stated, among other things, the "rapid pace of hiring has strained our onboarding and training processes" and "the scale of the turnover, the slower pace of the territory manager productivity ramp, and the concentration of these new hires in a subset of our regions" necessitated the guidance reset.
On this, shares of CVRx dropped $3.55 or 59.76% to close at $2.39 per share, on August 7, 2026 thereby injuring investors.
