Virtual Students Across Ohio Come Together for Night of Fun and Learning at the Center of Science and Industry Museum
Ohio Virtual Academy welcomes current and prospective students and families to Expo and Exploration Day on Thursday, March 21
Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA), a full-time online public school with Ohio-certified teachers, announced today it will welcome enrolled students and interested families to its Expo and Exploration Day at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) museum in Columbus, Ohio. The event, which will take place on Thursday, March 21 from 5:30-9 p.m., is open to current and prospective students and families across Ohio.
“OHVA is a virtual school that strives to create connections among students. Meaningful in-person opportunities for students to learn, interact and have fun with their peers are among the special moments that are part of the OHVA experience,” said Kristin Stewart, head of school at OHVA. “We are eager to connect with students, their families and our community for a night of exploration and demonstrate what makes our school so unique.”
The event will not only allow OHVA students to connect in-person — some for the very first time — but also put their work on display. Guests will be able to view exhibits with artwork, poems and other projects made by students. In addition, guests will also have the opportunity to explore COSI and enjoy several hands-on exhibits, including:
- Ocean Exhibit
- Space Exhibit
- Dinosaur Gallery
- Electricity shows (6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.)
- Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) Seat Belt Safety Challenge
Throughout the event, interested students and their families will have the opportunity to learn more about OHVA and the benefits of virtual education. Current OHVA students will also receive a shirt on a first-come, first-serve basis. The event will conclude with a raffle drawing where students can win prizes to take home.
Students, guests and prospective families can purchase tickets for the event for $6.50. OHVA students with an entry in the expo will receive a free ticket upon registering. To register, please visit bit.ly/3OYHibz.
