Rank Group accepts GBP5.0 million settlement with Gambling Commission
(Alliance News) - Rank Group PLC confirmed on Wednesday that it has accepted a GBP5.0 million regulatory settlement with the UK gambling authority.
Rank Group is a Maidenhead, England-based gaming operator and owner of the Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo brands.
Rank said the settlement is in lieu of a financial penalty related to "historical failings in the Grosvenor venues business".
The Gambling Commission said investigations into three casino operators owned by the group revealed anti-money laundering and social responsibility failures.
The settlement is in line with the provision outlined in July and the company expects no further impact on profit or additional remedial actions.
Shares in the gaming operator were down 1.5% to 72.00 pence on Wednesday morning in London. Over the past year, they have fallen 44%.
