Renishaw hails "excellent" progress amid double-digit sales growth

(Alliance News) - Renishaw PLC on Wednesday declared a special dividend as it delivered strong annual results and forecast further progress on revenue and profit in the year ahead.

The Gloucestershire, England-based provider of manufacturing technologies, analytical instruments, and medical devices said pretax profit jumped 27% to GBP150.0 million in the financial year ended June 30 from GBP118.0 million a year earlier.

Operating profit rose 25% to GBP135.3 million from GBP107.9 million a year ago, or by 63% on an adjusted basis to GBP152.9 million from GBP112.3 million. Adjusted operating profit margin improved to 18.7% from 15.7%.

Revenue rose 14% to GBP815.8 million from GBP713.0 million, or by 17% at constant currency, reflecting strong demand across the semiconductor, aerospace and defence sectors, Renishaw said.

Earnings per share rose 42% to 163.5p from 115.2p, or by 30% to 179.5p from 137.8p on an adjusted basis.

The total dividend was increased 5.0% to 82.0p per share from 78.1p, including a final payout of 65.2p, up from 61.3p. In addition, Renishaw declared a special dividend of 70p per share.

Shares in Renishaw were up 2.7% to 5,685.00p each in London on Wednesday. The stock has risen 58% in the past 12 months.

"We made excellent progress in FY2026, with growth in all three segments," said Chief Executive Will Lee.

Lee said financial 2027 has "started strongly" as the firm continues to benefit from the current upturn in demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

"We expect further strong progress on revenue and profit in the year ahead," he added.
