Binbin Guo to Retire; No Ratings Changes for Vanguard Market Neutral or Vanguard Strategic Equity

Senior Analyst

Analyst Note

| |

On July 2, 2021, Vanguard announced that Binbin Guo, a listed portfolio manager for Vanguard Strategic Equity (with a Morningstar Analyst Rating of Bronze) and Neutral-rated Vanguard Market Neutral, will retire in September 2021. He had been a manager for both of these funds for about five years and joined Vanguard in 2007. Guo's planned departure follows fellow manager James Stetler's retirement in June 2021. Ahead of this leadership transition, Vanguard hired Cesar Orosco in March 2020 from quant firm AJO, where he worked for 10 years, and most recently served as principal and head of research. Orosco was appointed manager for Vanguard Strategic Equity and Vanguard Market Neutral in February 2021, and will be the sole lead following Guo's retirement.
