Veteran manager Barry Crosthwaite will transition off American Funds Investment Company of America on Sept. 1, 2021, ahead of retiring from American Funds’ parent Capital Group in early 2022. He worked in business for 14 years before transitioning to asset management and spent his entire 25-year investment career at Capital Group. Crosthwaite will also step away from his portfolio management duties on American Funds Growth Fund of America AGTHX and American Funds AMCAP AMCPX on Nov. 1, 2021, and Jan. 1, 2022, respectively.
