Effective April 1, 2020, David Lee, a two-decade industry veteran and corporate-credit specialist, retired from Capital Group and is no longer a portfolio manager on American Funds Bond Fund of America. The assets that he managed in his designated sleeve of this portfolio will move to a corporate bond sleeve that is managed with input from other corporate bond specialists, including Karen Choi. Although not named as a portfolio manager here, Choi, who is a comanager on American Funds Intermediate Bond Fund of America, assumed Lee’s assets in that strategy upon this announcement. She brings two decades of industry experience to the responsibilities and has served as a corporate credit analyst covering utilities, regional banks, and nonbank financials for the firm.
