PIMCO announced the retirement of firm president Jay Jacobs on June 13, 2017, effective at the end of September. His responsibilities will be split by newly appointed co-chief operating officers Robin Shanahan and Peter Strelow. Jacobs will stay on for at least a year as an advisor to CEO Manny Roman, who joined the firm in 2016. Shanahan has been with PIMCO for 10 years and is currently its global head of human resources. Strelow, a 15-year veteran of the firm currently serves as its global chief administrative officer and global head of its funds business group.
