Principal MidCap is worthy of investors’ confidence. The strategy is closed to new investors, but those who are in it (whether in the mutual fund or in separate accounts) have a good reason to stick around. That said, changes to the assessment of excess return opportunities for funds mean more of this strategy's Morningstar Medalist Ratings than usual have changed with this update, even without substantial changes to pillar ratings or fund costs.
