The January 2026 combination of New York Life’s general account management and its asset management arm, New York Life Investment Management, added staff and research capacity to the investment team. Alongside the restructuring of the management team in 2025, both are overall positives for NYLIM MacKay Strategic Bond. The heavy concentration in securitized and credit relies on newly expanded research teams for sector-specific analysis and bottom-up decision-making.
