The BlackRock Emerging Markets strategy is led by a talented manager who employs a nimble, differentiated investment approach. That said, we continue to have reservations that the strategy’s alpha potential may be restrained as the portfolio extends beyond the team’s top-conviction ideas, compared with the more concentrated approach it has successfully used in the past. We reiterate the strategy’s People Pillar of Above Average and Process Pillar of Average.
