On Jan. 12, 2021, Harris Trifon, co-head of Western Asset's mortgage and consumer credit investment team, will leave the firm to pursue another opportunity. Trifon joined Western Asset in March 2014 and focused on commercial real estate debt research. Meanwhile, Western Asset is looking to fill Trifon's position with someone who has a similar focus. Greg Handler, co-head of mortgage and consumer credit, will continue to lead and oversee the team while assuming interim head responsibilities. Handler joined Western Asset in 2002 and is a lead portfolio manager on Western Asset's dedicated mortgage portfolios and a member of Western Asset's U.S. broad strategy committee.
