Analyst Note

Comanager Jeff Russell will retire at the end of 2023, but ClearBridge Small Cap Growth remains on solid footing thanks to Aram Green's continued presence and the impending addition of a new comanager. Its Morningstar Medalist Ratings of Silver and Bronze remain unchanged. Russell began managing the strategy in 2007 alongside Green, though at the time, Green was still new to the industry while Russell already had more than two decades of experience. So, while their shared tenure is the same, Green is still relatively young and has plenty of fuel in the tank to manage this strategy for the years ahead. He will not do so alone, either. Jeff Bailin, a longtime analyst on the small- and mid-cap research team at ClearBridge, will join Green as a comanager effective December 2023. Bailin was a generalist as an analyst and has supported this strategy since 2015, so he is already familiar with its process and portfolio. His familiarity should allow for a smooth transition, and investors should not expect any changes to the process.
