On June 21, 2021, comanager Stephanie Nomura resigned from Bank of Hawaii, the subadvisor for Aquila Investment Management’s Hawaiian Tax-Free Trust strategy (ticker XVZ). This was unexpected, but the Bank of Hawaii is actively looking to backfill Nomura’s position. In the meantime, Hawaiian Tax-Free Trust is led by seasoned manager Janet Katakura, who is supported by analyst Stephen Dodge. Still, the team needs to hire Nomura’s replacement soon as she was running much of the day-to-day here.
