Summary

Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Value's mission is in its name: to invest in value stocks and avoid taxable distributions. It's a worthy mission, but the strategy borders on being antiquated. For decades, passive exchange-traded funds have organically deferred capital gains taxes. And active ETFs provide direct competition for this traditional tax-managed active mutual fund.
