Capital Group veterans Arthur Caye and Lisa Thompson will officially join American Funds Developing World Growth and Income’s management team in February 2023, bringing the total number of named managers to six. Their addition doesn’t alter the strategy’s Morningstar Analyst Ratings range of Bronze to Neutral across its 19 share classes, but it does illustrate the firm’s methodical approach to adding investment talent. Caye ran a relatively small portion of assets as an undisclosed manager on this strategy for one year, something Capital Group does regularly when adding managers to strategies. He has spent 18 of his 29 years in the industry at Capital Group, where he has covered banks in Latin America, Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa. He also serves as a manager on an emerging-markets growth strategy with managers Chapman Taylor and Victor Kohn. Thompson also has managed a relatively small portion of assets as an undisclosed manager on this strategy for one year. She has spent 28 of her 34 years in the industry at Capital Group, where she has covered companies in Latin America, emerging Europe, West Asia, and Africa. She also serves as a manager on American Funds International Growth and Income IGAAX and New World NEWFX.
