American Funds’ parent Capital Group announced that Barbara Burtin will officially join the management team of American Funds International Growth and Income on Feb. 1. Burtin’s disclosure helps fill the void left when veteran manager Paul Flynn retired from the firm at the end of 2023. Burtin’s addition brings the total number of named managers to seven. It does not alter the strategy's High People rating or its Morningstar Medalist Ratings.
