Debbie McCoy left BlackRock's Systematic Active Equity group in February 2021 after six years with the firm. Though she was not a named portfolio manager on BlackRock Advantage ESG U.S. Equity BIRIX, as head of sustainable investing she was a key contributor to the research agenda driving this fund's quantitative model. But key members of the sustainability team, such as Gerry Garvey (head of sustainable research for SAE since 2013) and Josh Kazdin (head of climate research since the fund's inception in 2015), remain in place, and the fund's Above Average People rating is unchanged. The fund's cheapest share classes earn a Morningstar Analyst Rating of Bronze, while its pricier C shares are Neutral.
