AMG River Road Dividend All Cap Value manager Henry Sanders announced that he will retire from the mutual fund and related separate accounts on Dec. 31, 2023. The move wasn't entirely unexpected, and the strategy will be in good hands with comanagers Thom Forsha and Andrew McIntosh. It retains its Above Average People rating and its Morningstar Medalist Ratings. This team is well prepared to handle Sanders' upcoming retirement. Sanders co-founded River Road in April 2005 and has comanaged this strategy since its October 2003 inception. His more than 30 years of industry experience will be missed, but the firm took prudent steps to prepare for his eventual retirement. Sanders has slowly reduced his workload over the past few years, and in mid-2021, he handed off lead manager duties to Forsha and later indicated he was likely to retire in the next three years. Forsha, who has been a manager here since June 2007, is well suited to lead this approach and will have the continued support of comanager McIntosh, who joined the firm in 2011 and served as an analyst until his promotion to comanager in February 2018. The duo can also tap the firm's 15 other portfolio managers and analysts for additional insight into companies, which instills further confidence in the team's ability to execute its approach going forward.
