Peter Albanese, one of three comanagers of Columbia Disciplined Core AQEAX and several other quantitative Columbia funds, died on July 7, 2021, after a short illness. Albanese had joined Columbia in 2014 after more than 20 years of experience in quant investing at other firms. The funds' two other portfolio managers remain: Raghavendran Sivaraman, who was promoted to head of the quantitative strategies team in 2020 after the retirement of team founder Brian Condon, and Oleg Nusinzon, who joined Columbia in October 2020 to replace Condon. Nusinzon has been in the industry since 1997.
