Effective Oct. 5, 2021, Shawn Keegan, a credit portfolio manager and former comanager on AB Total Return ABQZX, has departed the firm. Keegan’s career at AB spanned two stints at the firm, his first in 1997, his second in 2001. Keegan had been a comanager on AB Total Return since 2005 and provided input on corporate credit. Multisector portfolio managers Michael Canter and Janaki Rao, who have both spent more than two decades specializing in securitized fare, will continue to guide this strategy. Canter, AB’s director of securitized assets and U.S. multisector fixed income, has been at AB for more than a decade and became a comanager on this strategy in 2016. Rao joined AB in 2013 from Morgan Stanley and became a comanager here in 2018. While the firm will not name a replacement credit manager on this roster, Canter and Rao will tap AB’s investment-grade credit team, including lead credit portfolio manager Tiffanie Wong, for input on this strategy’s corporate credit allocation.
