James Barrow's planned retirement from the management roster of American Beacon Balanced went into effect Feb. 28, 2021. Barrow's departure is noteworthy--he co-founded Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss in 1979 and has been managing portfolios for roughly half a century. He has been a named manager on this fund since its 1987 inception when American Beacon chose Barrow, Hanley as one of the initial subadvisors. Ahead of this transition, in February 2015, American Beacon added planned successor Mark Giambrone as a manager to this fund and to American Beacon Large Cap Value. Giambrone started at Barrow, Hanley over 20 years ago and has been a named manager on American Beacon Mid-Cap Value since 2004.
