The investment seeks to provide a high level of current income; the fund seeks long-term capital appreciation is secondary consideration. To pursue its goals, the fund normally invests principally in fixed-income securities. The fixed-income securities in which the it invests principally include bonds, notes (including structured notes), mortgage-related securities, and asset-backed securities.
