Dollar General's first-quarter results included 3.4% net sales growth and adjusted earnings per share of $2.00, up 12.6%. Gross margin rose 65 basis points to 31.6%, driven by lower shrink, higher inventory markups, retail media growth, and favorable sales mix, partly offset by higher fuel costs.
