Business Strategy and Outlook

Constellation Software is a holding company that acquires, manages, and develops vertical market software (VMS). Through their six operating groups, the company has purchased upwards of 1,000 businesses which are operated in a decentralized manner. Each business operates independently of the other portfolio companies allowing their respective unit heads to manage the business in a manner they deem most appropriate. Excess cash generated by each business unit is repatriated to portfolio managers who redeploy the capital to acquire new businesses.

Our investment management business generates asset-based fees, which are calculated as a percentage of assets under management. We also sell both admissions and sponsorship packages for our investment conferences and advertising on our websites and newsletters.
