Xylem Earnings: Project Delays Affect Second-Half Revenue, but Order Growth Points to Healthy Demand

Narrow-moat-rated Xylem reported third-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $1.11, in line with consensus expectations, but the stock was down in early trading on Oct. 31 as the $4.23 midpoint of management's updated 2024 adjusted EPS guidance range was below the $4.26 FactSet consensus estimate and our $4.28 forecast. We’ve trimmed our fair value estimate to $113 per share from $114 to reflect our slightly more muted near-term revenue growth expectations, partially offset by the time value of money.
