Q4 Rally Is Cold Comfort for Battered Bond-Fund Investors
Most fixed-income funds rallied in 2022′s final quarter but not enough to avoid a historically bad year.
Peter Marchese is a senior manager research analyst for Morningstar Research Services LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc. He covers fixed-income strategies.
Before joining Morningstar in 2021, Marchese spent eight years at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch as a researcher of multi-asset managers and a client relationship manager for one of the largest wealth advisory teams at the firm. Using his recommendations for mutual funds and exchange-traded funds, this team constructed discretionary equity, fixed-income, and multi-asset investment strategies for client portfolios. His prior experience includes over 15 years as a fixed-income portfolio manager and trader at the Northern Trust Company in Chicago.
Marchese holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Marquette University and a master's degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
