The Week Ahead: Microsoft, Amazon Lead Slew of Earnings

We're watching for reports from major names including Proctor and Gamble, McDonald’s, Chipotle, and Boeing.

Earnings season continues with key players across industries announcing this week.

We will be watching Microsoft’s report on Wednesday specifically for growth within its cloud-computing software, Azure, and how it is competing with Amazon’s cloud service. Amazon, which missed earnings last quarter and is hoping to capitalize on the declining retail industry through Amazon Web Services, is also due.

TD Ameritrade’s earnings are due. The firm recently eliminated trading commissions like other custodians in the industry looking to lower investing barriers.

Several airlines including American, Southwest, and Alaska Air will show how their summer seasons fared on Thursday.

Proctor and Gamble, McDonald’s, Chipotle, Boeing, and Caterpillar also report.

New home sales and weekly jobless claims will be announced Thursday morning. The consumer sentiment index for October is also due.
