The Week Ahead: Earnings From Apple, Facebook

Jeremy Glaser: It's a busy week as earnings season rolls on and November starts.

Apple reports Thursday ahead of the launch of its flagship iPhone X on Friday. Analyst Brian Colello thinks the new premium-priced phone is a sign of the firm's competitive strength.

Facebook has been turning in excellent results recently, and we'll see if that trend continues on Wednesday.

There are plenty of other earnings from energy firms like BP and Shell, automaker Tesla, Starbucks, Yum Brands, and Pfizer.

The Fed meets this week, too, as the central bank prepares to normalize its balance sheet and for the possibility of a new chair. The market doesn't expect rates to change at this

but it is still pricing in a very high portability of a hike at the December meeting.

Jobs will also be in focus with the October report on Friday. Other key reports include consumption data, the Case-Schiller home price index, and the ISM manufacturing gauge.

Stay tuned for our take on these stories.
