The Week Ahead: 4th Quarter Kicks Off With Full Slate

Jeremy Glaser: Jobs will be in the spotlight with the employment report on Friday. Beyond just the number of jobs added, the market will be looking for signs that a tighter labor market is leading to wage growth.

The ISM manufacturing index, auto sales, and factory orders will provide a reading on the state of the industrial economy.

In earnings, Costco reports Thursday. The firm has largely been able to insulate itself from e-commerce competition, according to analyst John Brick, and we'll see if that trend continues. Other reports on tap include Yum China, Constellation Brands, Pepsico, and Lennar.
