Tellus Proptech with Savings App Adds Passkey Sign-In Across iOS, Android and the Web
PR Newswire
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 3, 2026
Customers can sign in with facial recognition, a fingerprint or a device passcode instead of waiting for a text or email code.
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tellus App, Inc. ("Tellus"), the proptech company behind the Tellus savings app, today announced optional passkey sign-in across its iOS, Android and web apps. Tellus customers with a supported device can start using it now in the latest Tellus apps or a supported web browser.

A passkey is a digital key stored on a customer's device or in a supported password manager. After adding one, a customer signs in the same way they unlock their phone or computer. Passkey sign-in uses open authentication standards developed by the FIDO Alliance and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
"People use Tellus to save, pay rent and manage rental homes. They should not have to wait for a code to sign in," said Jeromee (JJ) Johnson, President of Tellus. "Whether they're checking savings or paying rent, signing in should take a glance, and a passkey only works on the real Tellus."
What customers get:
- Protection from look-alike sites. A passkey works only with the real Tellus service, so a look-alike website cannot use it to sign in. This protection covers passkey sign-ins, not sign-ins with a code.
- A choice. Passkeys are optional. Customers can add a passkey and keep their text or email codes.
- Privacy. When customers sign in with a passkey, Tellus does not receive their face or fingerprint data or the passkey's private key.
- Recovery after a phone change. A passkey saved to a password manager that syncs across devices may already be on a new phone. Customers who can still receive a code at the phone number or email address on their account can also sign in that way, add a new passkey and remove the old one.
To add a passkey in the Tellus app, customers go to Profile > Privacy and security > Security settings > Passkeys.
The Tellus app is available on the App Store and Google Play. The Tellus web app is at web.tellusapp.com.
