Beverly Hills High School Students Receive Feinberg & Waller Mock Trial Leadership Award

Two student leaders recognized for their contributions to school and community
CALABASAS, Calif., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Beverly Hills High School students Jion Jung and Arthur Weiser have been named this year's co-recipients of the Feinberg & Waller Mock Trial Leadership Award, recognizing their leadership, civic involvement, and contributions to their school and community.
The California family law firm traditionally selects one student each year but chose to recognize both Jung and Weiser after reviewing their accomplishments. The two students serve as co-presidents of their school's mock trial team, which they helped reestablish, and have demonstrated leadership well beyond the courtroom.
"These students aren't waiting for someone else to create opportunities for them," said Marshall W. Waller, Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) and Managing Partner of Feinberg & Waller, APC. "They've taken the initiative to lead, to contribute, and to help other students succeed. That's exactly the kind of leadership we hoped to recognize when we established this award."
Beyond their involvement in mock trial, both students have demonstrated leadership throughout their school and community.
Weiser serves as Student Body Vice President at Beverly Hills High School and has participated in several civic leadership initiatives, including an internship with California State Senator Ben Allen. He also co-founded a youth-led nonprofit focused on community service and advocacy.
Jung is president of the Beverly Hills Teen Advisory Committee and co-captain of the school's Academic Decathlon team, where Jung helps prepare more than 30 students for competition. Jung also created a student-led book recommendation initiative in the school library.
Mentorship with an Experienced Family Law Attorney
Both recipients will participate in a mentorship program with Feinberg & Waller attorneys, including Waller, who has a long history of coaching mock trial teams. The program offers:
- Personalized guidance on legal principles, courtroom preparation, and trial skills
- Advice on legal careers, networking, and professional opportunities
- Guidance on resumes and professional development
- Opportunities for the students' mock trial team to meet with practicing attorneys
Through the program, students gain firsthand insight into the legal profession while developing skills they can carry into college and future careers.
The award is presented in connection with the Los Angeles County Mock Trial Competition, organized by Teach Democracy, which introduces students to the judicial system while developing skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and civic engagement.
