TRUMP SAYS IRAN COULD "TAKE OUT" LOS ANGELES AND SAN DIEGO CalExit Warns California Legislators and Californians to Take Growing Threats to Major Cities, Elections and Presidential Succession Seriously
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- President Trump told a Nebraska rally that Iran could "take out Los Angeles" and "take out San Diego," describing the destruction as a "small price to pay." Trump supporters cheered wildly, while condemnation from elected republicans remains virtually nonexistent.

CalExit advises Californians to pay close attention.
For nearly two years, CalExit has warned that developments once dismissed as politically inconceivable were moving steadily into the realm of possibility.
Weeks away from the scheduled contest, the conduct of 2026 midterm elections remains seriously in doubt.
Peter Ticktin, Trump's former military-school classmate, longtime attorney, and closest outside adviser, has publicly discussed presidential intervention and martial law around Election Day.
CalExit warns of a possible sequence in which emergency authority is invoked, federal forces are deployed, and curfews, arrests, restricted movement, or other emergency measures make normal voting an unobtainable outcome.
The question is simple: How does the USA conduct a fair national election with major population centers operating under emergency military restrictions?
CalExit has also warned that Americans should not assume a conventional transfer of presidential power whether in 2028, or before.
In February 2025, CalExit Political Director J.J. Ames raised the possibility that Trump could seek to preserve presidential power within his family. Rachel Maddow has now publicly echoed the CalExit concern.
The constitutional pathway is straightforward.
If the vice presidency became vacant for any reason, Trump could nominate Donald Trump Jr., subject to simple majority confirmation by both Houses of Congress. If Trump then left office, for medical or other reasons, Trump Jr. would become President and could nominate Eric Trump to fill the vacant vice presidency.
Before Californians declare this a total fantasy; who among us foresaw a sitting president all but inviting an active adversary to destroy American cities? In truth, every constitutional mechanism required to establish a North Korean-style family dictatorship is already in place.
"We warned Californians not to confuse unprecedented with unrealistic, nor implausible with impossible," said Ames. "These distinctions may soon become the most important we have ever faced."
CalExit believes California must prepare now for every lawful contingency affecting its people, its elections, and its future.
