WINAMAC, Ind., Oct. 7, 2026

WINAMAC, Ind., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Doral Renewables LLC ("Doral Renewables") celebrated today the imminent Commercial Operation of the Mammoth South, Mammoth Central I, and Mammoth Central II phases of the Mammoth Solar project. These three phases represent a combined capacity of 900 MWac that will be reaching commercial operation, and the completion of the entire Mammoth Solar complex, a 1.3 GW site, one of the largest operational solar projects in the country.

The three phases now coming online were constructed over 18 months. During peak construction, approximately 1,800 workers attended the site every day. At one point, an engineering logistics marvel was achieved as 20,000 panels per day were installed. During operations, Doral Renewables will explore multiple partnerships and efforts to deploy large-scale dual-use practices, also known as Agrivoltaics, which will include agricultural and farming activities inside the project area. Among others, the company is exploring specialty crops, sheep and cattle grazing, and an ongoing partnership with Purdue University.

"Today is the culmination of true partnership between the Pulaski County community and Doral", said Nick Cohen, President and CEO of Doral Renewables. "We started this project as a vision to bring a major economic development project to the county and an energy project to the state, and it grew beyond our wildest dreams. We are hoping to make this one of the leading dual-use sites in the country and further grow the partnership between Doral and local farmers."

Indiana's Secretary of Energy, Suzanne Jaworowski, also took part in the festivities. "In the world of economic development right now, every project is looking for speed to electrons. With demand for electricity skyrocketing, we need every electron we can get on the grid." Said Secretary Jaworowski. "We want to create an energy infrastructure that will draw economic development and do it in a way that preserves our way of life and our agricultural environment. This project is a great example of that."

Some of the project's partners in attendance emphasized its economic impact: "Mammoth Solar is a powerful example of what happens when we connect American manufacturing directly to American energy infrastructure—Indiana steel, made by Indiana local workers, built into an Indiana power plant, and generating electricity for Indiana communities," said Robert Vinje, Chief Operating Officer of Nextpower. "We're proud to partner with Doral and Bechtel on a project that delivers reliable, high-performance solar generation while creating lasting economic and agricultural value for the farmers, families, and communities that call Indiana home."

"We didn't do this alone. It's important to recognize the partnership and collaboration of the men and women who made this possible. What we take pride in is the unions that supported us, that answered the call every day: through the heat, through the snow and ice, through the rain, the good and the bad," commented Finley Lewis, Renewables Operations Manager for North America at Bechtel. "This was a project of commitment, of partnership, of dedication. The men and women of our union partners are why we're standing here today, and why this community will be able to enjoy clean power."
