NUREMBERG, Germany, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Paessler, a leading provider of IT and OT monitoring solutions, today announced that the PRTG Multi-Platform Probe is available on the Siemens Industrial Edge Marketplace. Operators of Siemens Industrial Edge devices can now deploy and manage the probe as a ready-to-use edge application directly from the marketplace, bringing PRTG monitoring to the machine and production line level.

Industrial environments typically rely on separate tools for IT infrastructure and OT systems, leaving blind spots between the corporate network and the plant floor. With the PRTG Multi-Platform Probe running on Siemens Industrial Edge hardware, IT and OT teams gain one shared view across PLCs, field devices, OT switches, and IT infrastructure in a single PRTG instance.

Deployed at the edge, the probe collects data from widely used industrial protocols, including OPC UA, Modbus TCP, MQTT, and SNMP, and includes sensors for SIMATIC S7 programmable logic controllers. Monitoring data is transmitted securely to the customer's PRTG core server, with the probe buffering data locally during connectivity interruptions and resuming transmission automatically once the connection is restored. This makes the solution suitable for distributed and segmented production networks, including remote sites without VPN connectivity.

"For years, the gap between IT monitoring and the plant floor has been a blind spot for industrial operators. By bringing the PRTG Multi-Platform Probe onto Siemens Industrial Edge devices, monitoring now lives where production happens. IT and OT teams work from the same picture, from the core switch down to the PLC", said Mav Turner, Chief Product Officer at Paessler.

"With the PRTG Multi-Platform Probe joining the Siemens Industrial Edge Ecosystem, we are giving our customers a new level of flexibility and visibility into their production environments. The joint approach supports a scalable, secure, and standards-based strategy for OT monitoring," said Julian Vogel, Ecosystem Manager Industrial Edge Solutions, Siemens AG, Digital Industries, Factory Automation.

Unlike traditional remote probes that run only on Windows, the PRTG Multi-Platform Probe is cross-platform and container-friendly. Beyond Siemens Industrial Edge devices, it runs natively on Debian, Ubuntu, and RHEL systems or as a Docker container, making it a fit for the heterogeneous environments found in manufacturing, energy production, and infrastructure operations.

The PRTG Multi-Platform Probe is available now on the Siemens Industrial Edge Marketplace. A valid PRTG subscription is required. More information:
