The first behind-the-scenes account of the people, power and decisions behind DOGE's push to reshape the federal government
HOUSTON, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Inside DOGE hits shelves today, offering the first insider account of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the people, decisions and events behind its push to reshape the federal government. Written by Tyler Hassen, a Houston business executive who went on to serve as Acting Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of the Interior, the book draws on his firsthand experience inside the federal government to provide a behind-the-scenes look at DOGE and its unprecedented effort to transform how Washington operates.

Part memoir and part management autopsy, Inside DOGE documents what happened when builders collided with the most entrenched bureaucracy in Washington. Hassen takes readers into late-night West Wing meetings, a California water crisis that set off an international media firestorm, formal Senate scrutiny of his own appointment, and an $830 million contract request for customer service surveys he says he could have designed in high school.
Hassen argues that Washington is not beyond repair, but that it's a system of incentives that rewards process over results. Rather than simply draining the swamp, he calls for flooding it with talent.
Published by Republic Book Publisher, Inside DOGE is available today, September 22, 2026 on Amazon and all major booksellers.
