Nexcess now delivers managed cloud built on Nutanix, giving businesses enterprise-grade infrastructure backed by expert support, managed environments, and predictable cost.
LANSING, Mich., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Nexcess, a cloud service provider which operates more than 100,000 servers for 185,000 customers worldwide, today announced the expansion of its portfolio with Nutanix-powered managed cloud. Built on Nutanix's hyperconverged infrastructure, the new offering gives customers a single, software-defined platform for compute, storage, and networking, managed by the Nexcess team.

Nexcess handles the architecture, the migration, and the environment, so customers get a modern managed cloud without adding headcount or retraining their teams. For businesses moving off an outdated or unsupported system, that work runs from scoping through cutover, with minimal disruption while it happens.
"Most companies don't struggle to buy infrastructure, they struggle to run it," said Michael Ohayon, General Manager, Managed Cloud, Nexcess. "We chose Nutanix because it's the platform enterprises trust with their most critical workloads. Then we take full ownership of the design, migration and the day-to-day operations after. Our customers get the peace of mind of a best-in-class platform with accountability and support wrapped around it. "
Why now
For many small and midsize businesses virtualization costs have increased as licensing and provider changes continue to disrupt the market. At the same time, cyber insurance providers are asking for real evidence of up-to-date cloud environments before they'll renew a policy. Together, these pressures are pushing IT teams to look for a partner who can control cost and prove readiness. Managed cloud gives customers the reliability and control of dedicated infrastructure with the operational simplicity of a managed service, without the specialized skills it normally takes to run one.
Availability
Managed cloud is available in both single and multi-tenant environments. Existing Nexcess customers can upgrade to managed cloud powered by Nutanix, while new customers can start with a Nutanix-powered managed cloud environment from day one.
