Retired Major League Baseball star Matt Holliday is ready to part ways with the newly built Paradise Valley, Ariz., estate he purchased earlier this year.

The World Series champion-who previously played for the New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies, Oakland Athletics, and St. Louis Cardinals-has listed his five-bedroom, six-bedroom abode for $11.6 million after snapping it up for $10.6 million in February, according to records.

A respiratory disease led Holliday, 46 and his wife, Leslee Holliday, 47 to leave their former home in Stillwater, Okla., listing agent Vincent Clark of VCRE told the Phoenix Business Journal.

"The doctor said he needed to get to dry climate quick," said Clark, who noted that Holliday had received the diagnosis after a water leak affected their 136-acre dream home, which is still on the market.

The Arizona listing indicates "the residence received substantial healthy-home enhancements" following an "extensive" assessment. Updates include air and water filtration and conditioning systems, and a dedicated multistage reverse-osmosis drinking system.

Additional updates include Control4 automation-a smart home program that "integrates the residence."

The property includes transferred approved plans for an 845-square-foot guest casita, but according to Clark, the Hollidays are seeking a home with an existing guesthouse. However, the home does include a generously-sized guest suite.

Situated on a lot just over an acre, the 7,781-square-foot home was built in 2025.

Its contemporary design is defined by glass walls boasting breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain, as the surrounding landscape creates a serene environment in every inch of the home.

The outdoor area features 3,000 square feet of covered space and stunning resort-style landscaping.

A 60-foot lap pool includes a heated spa, and the area is perfectly primed for entertaining with multiple fire features, a built-in barbecue, and lots of space to lounge.

Inside, a modern, open-concept floor plan adds to the tranquil vibe of the estate.

The great room is truly remarkable, with a dramatic 14-foot multislide door that provides direct access to the palm tree-lined courtyard oasis.

The kitchen has multiple ovens, a sizable walk-in pantry, and a large island with plenty of storage and room to dine.

Unobstructed mountain views set the tone in the sprawling primary suite, which includes a spa-worthy bathroom featuring a double vanity and sky-high ceilings. Three of the additional bedrooms also include en suite bathrooms.

Decorated with funky green wallpaper, the office is an inspiring corner of the home. There's also a space to be used as a recreation or theater room, and a flexible fitness space for those who prefer to exercise without having to leave the house.

The climate-controlled garage is a major perk in the Arizona heat, and has room for four cars.

Although it sits on a smaller parcel of land, the Paradise Valley home is comparable in size to the 7,500-square-foot Oklahoma abode the Hollidays are still trying to sell, although the latter features many more customizations.

From Gucci wallpaper to a $2 million two-level pool with a luxury hot tub and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, the family's former property spares no expense.

The host of amenities is jaw-dropping and includes a professionally lit baseball field, indoor pickleball and basketball courts, and a guesthouse.

"One of the things I've loved most about this home is the opportunity it has given us to gather people together," Holliday shared in a statement to Mansion Global. "Some of our favorite memories here revolve around hosting college students and professional athletes for meals, conversation, and meaningful fellowship."

Still, it struggles to find a buyer, and has taken two price slashes since originally hitting the market for $12 million in February 2026. In May, it was discounted to $9.8 million before dropping down to $8.95 million in September.

An estimated $3 million worth of custom furniture has been included in the listing to sweeten the deal, which can also include additional land.
