Meta stock scores a rare 'golden cross' buy signal as investors swarm to its top-charting AI agent
By Steve Goldstein
Meta Platforms' stock has achieved a golden cross.
Meta Platforms, whose stock has thrived after the introduction of an artificial-intelligence assistant, just got another piece of good news.
The stock's 50-day average (META) has crossed over its 200-day average, which is called a "golden cross" in technical analysis. What that shows is that the stock is in an upward trend.
According to Bluekurtic Market Insights, that's the seventh time in Meta's history that the stock has registered a golden cross. In the previous six times, the stock was always higher after one month.
Meta has received rave reviews for the introduction of Muse, its personal AI agent, on Sept. 8, though investors have not identified how the company will monetize the product.
Muse is currently the top app on both the Apple and Google U.S. charts.
Wells Fargo on Tuesday set a $1,000 price target on Meta, one of the highest on Wall Street.
According to FactSet, the average price target is just under $797.
