Airbus can't get enough engines. The stock is falling.
By Steve Goldstein
Airbus lowered its production guidance for the A320 line of aircraft.
Plane maker Airbus on Thursday said it's having trouble sourcing enough engines as it outlined guidance that disappointed investors.
Airbus said RTX Corp.'s (RTX) Pratt & Whitney has failed to commit to the number of engines it ordered, which is hurting this year's guidance and production trajectory for the A320.
Airbus is now targeting 70 to 75 aircraft per month by the end of 2027, versus its previous target of 75 per month in 2027.
Airbus also said Spirit Aerosystems was impacting production of the A220.
Airbus stock (FR:AIR) tumbled 7% to take its year-to-date performance into negative territory.
