Norwegian Cruise Line stock was rising Tuesday, after sliding on Friday.

Norwegian Cruise Line shares rose on Tuesday after a report an activist investor has taken a stake and plans to shake up the struggling company.

Shares (NCLH) rose 6% in premarket trade as the Wall Street Journal reported that Elliott has built a more than 10% stake and now plans to push for changes, including by nominating a director to the board.

Norwegian last week announced the ex-CEO of Subway Restaurants, John Chidsey, was replacing Harry Summer, news that sent the stock down 8%.

Though the company said its fourth-quarter results would be in line with expectations, analysts were fearing the worst on the outlook.

"We can't help but think that Norwegian's CEO is unlikely to be ousted two weeks before the 4Q earnings announcement if 2026 trends were shaping up as planned, and when we couple this with a perpetually lowered bar with respect to 2026 and especially 1Q26, we are again lowering our estimates for the fourth such time in the past two months," said analysts at Citi led by James Hardiman.
