Formula One driver Jenson Button just sold this chic, organic Calabasas home for $7.6 million

By Brittany Natale

Naturally, it has a four-car garage

He's outta here. Formula One driver Jenson Button has found a buyer for his design-forward Calabasas, Calif., mansion.

In January, the British racing champ put the six-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom, Spanish-inspired property on the market for $7.9 million. He sold it for $7,625,000 in March.

And this isn't Button's first trip around the track. Button and wife Brittny are very active on the real estate scene. Earlier this year, they picked up a Mediterranean-style mansion in Agoura Hills, Calif.; and last year, the couple listed their pastel pink Palm Springs retreat for $2.3 million.

Incredible design

Built in 1984, this sprawling modern organic-style compound has a gated entrance at the end of a long, private drive.

The 8,368-square-foot interior was designed by Brittny Button's design firm, Button Atelier LLC. It's a perfect blend of preserved period details, fine accents, and contemporary touches.

The layout is bright and airy, with a gourmet kitchen, formal dining room, and several sitting areas. Meanwhile, a double, marble-topped center island with seating; lightwood cabinetry; and lime wash walls are chic highlights in the upscale kitchen. That space effortlessly flows into a dining area with a fireplace, built-in shelving, and oversize picture windows.

There's also a separate formal dining room with a wood-beamed ceiling and outdoor access, while a custom lounge and bar area round out the main level.

And entertaining is a breeze, since the backyard is easily accessible from the first floor.

This property sits on a 2.3-acre lot and also features an outdoor kitchen and dining area and a gated, heated pool surrounded by gorgeous landscaping.

It's all in the details

The primary suite is a true standout, thanks to a cozy fireplace and built-in sitting area.

It also has a spa-inspired bathroom with a large, oval-shaped soaking tub; a gold-hued chandelier; and a spacious, arched shower. A walk-in closet and a dressing room give the space an extra dose of luxury.

Another bedroom has a pitched ceiling, while a smaller bathroom boasts a quirky, pink sink and an asymmetrical vanity mirror.

Additional amenities include a four-car garage, an exercise room, a home office, and central heating and air conditioning.
