Grubhub plans to lay off about 15% of staff, or 400 positions: WSJ

Grubhub is planning to lay off about 15% of its workforce, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing an email to staff it has obtained. Chief Executive Howard Migdal said that Grubhub is cutting about 400 positions, and that the company would inform workers about the cuts throughout the day. "While our business has grown since our 2019 prepandemic levels, our operating and staff costs have increased at a higher rate," Migdal said in the message. Grubhub is owned by Dutch food-delivery company Just Eat Takeaway.com , which has about 2,800 workers.
