Here's everything new coming to HBO Max in April 2023 — and what's leaving

'Barry' is back for its final season, while 'Somebody Somewhere,' '100 Foot Wave' and 'A Black Lady Sketch Show' return for new seasons

HBO Max has a boatload of new additions coming in April 2023, including the end of "Barry."

After a jaw-dropping Season 3 finale, "Barry" (April 16) kicks off its eight-episode final season with the eponymous hitman/actor (Bill Hader) finally -- maybe? -- facing the consequences for his violent past.

The limited series "Love & Death" (April 27) covers the same ground as Hulu's 2022 miniseries "Candy," though this time around Elizabeth Olsen, Patrick Fugit and Jesse Plemons star in the true-crime story of a Texas housewife who was accused of ax-murdering her best friend.

There's also Season 2 of "Somebody Somewhere" (April 23), Bridget Everett's warm and heartfelt dramedy about a woman rebuilding her life in Kansas; Season 2 of the spectacular surfing docuseries "100 Foot Wave" (April 16), as Garrett McNamara and his peers again test their physical and mental limits on the massive waves of Nazaré, Portugal; and Season 4 of the Emmy-winning comedy "A Black Lady Sketch Show" (April 14); "Fired on Mars" (April 20), an animated comedy starring the voice of Luke Wilson as a graphic designer at a colony on Mars who finds himself jobless and unable to get back to Earth; and the last half of the final season of the young-superhero drama "Titans" (April 13).

Warner Bros. Discovery's (WBD) Max also has "Music Box: Jason Isbell: Running With Our Eyes Closed" (April 7), a documentary about the acclaimed singer-songwriter; and live coverage of the U.S. Women's National Team playing Ireland (April 11) in a Women's World Cup tuneup and the U.S. men taking on archrival Mexico (April 19).
