7-Eleven's Japanese Parent Says North American Retailer Made Strides Upgrading Stores, Quiet About Fuel — OPIS

7-Eleven's parent Seven & i Holdings said 7-Eleven's North American network is "on track" with its target to build 1,300 new stores and to convert 2,600 sites to franchise stores by 2030. The company said it plans 500 franchise conversions in 2027, in the fall Investor Day presentation released online Friday.

In its 2030 goals, 7-Eleven Inc. (SEI) plans to modernize more than 3,500 stores, with "foundational" upgrades across its store base.

Its objectives also include vertically integrating its fuel operations. Earlier presentations said 7-Eleven was hiring more traders and seeking midstream operations. The latest Investor Day presentation offers no further details, reiterating only that the initiative is expected to boost Ebitda by about $400 million.

The information available online so far is also quiet about plans for SEI's initial public offering, which had been postponed to later next year.

7-Eleven intends to increase fresh food sales by $1 billion and add 1,100 restaurants, as well as reach $1.8 billion sales from its 7NOW online ordering and delivery service.

Seven & i continues to be focused on organic growth versus acquisitions, with about two-thirds of strategic investments toward 7-Eleven in North America and about a fourth of that capital for Seven Eleven Japan. The company has targeted an annual earnings per share growth rate in the high-teens, the presentation said.
