Hims & Hers to Offer Eli Lilly's Weight-Loss Drugs
By Kelly Cloonan
Hims & Hers Health and Eli Lilly inked a deal for the telehealth platform to offer the pharmaceutical company's obesity drugs at self-pay prices, a move that comes amid fierce competition in the market for GLP-1 drugs.
Under the agreement, patients who receive a prescription from a provider on Hims & Hers' platform would get access to the same self-pay prices for Lilly's Zepbound and Foundayo that they would pay for the medicines elsewhere, the companies said.
For Lilly, the move allows it to tap into Hims & Hers' large user base as it looks to compete better with rival Novo Nordisk. Hims & Hers also has an agreement to offer Novo's Wegovy weight-loss drug at Novo's self-pay prices.
Lilly said adults with obesity have shown strong and growing interest in getting prescription medicines through telehealth providers.
"At Lilly, we are always looking for new ways to help more people get the medicines they need, and that means meeting patients where they already are," said Ilya Yuffa, president of Lilly USA and global customer capabilities.
Lilly said self-pay pricing starts at $149 a month for Foundayo and $299 a month for Zepbound.
