Siemens Healthineers to Rebrand as Healthineers as Diagnostics Carve-Out Begins — Update

By Adria Calatayud

Siemens Healthineers said it plans to rebrand as Healthineers, dropping Siemens from its name as the medical-technology company advances toward a spinoff from its parent group and kicks off a carve-out for its own diagnostics unit.

Healthineers said Thursday that its in vitro diagnostics business would rebrand as Olyrian Diagnostics as a first step toward establishing a standalone company. Both Healthineers' and the diagnostics unit's brand transitions will run in parallel, it added.

The moves come as German industrial giant Siemens continues its yearslong shift away from the medical-technology business, looking to home in on industrial artificial intelligence.

Siemens listed Healthineers on the stock market in 2018, but kept a major stake that it has gradually reduced since then. In 2025, the group laid out plans to deconsolidate Healthineers by spinning off a 30% stake to shareholders, cutting its ownership from around 67% currently.

Healthineers said its spinoff from Siemens would be submitted for shareholder approval at the annual general meetings of both companies in February.

The Healthineers brand migration is expected to start in 2027 and have a three-year transition period, while that of the diagnostics business is due to be completed by mid-2028, Healthineers said. The diagnostics unit will remain part of Healthineers during the process, the company said.

Healthineers disclosed the structure changes as it reported results for the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2026, which ended Sept. 30, and said currency headwinds, higher costs and provisions for legal and product-related risks in its imaging segment hit profitability.

The company made a net profit of 589 million euros ($661.5 million) for the quarter, which compares with 588 million euros for the same period last year, it said. Analysts had forecast profit at 651 million euros, according to consensus estimates compiled by Vara Research.

Revenue was 6.78 billion euros, up 5.9% on a comparable basis. Analysts had forecast revenue at 6.73 billion euros and comparable growth at 5.6%, according to the consensus.

Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes fell 2% to 1.08 billion euros, against consensus expectations of 1.11 billion euros.

Looking forward, Healthineers said it expects comparable revenue growth to range from 4% to 5% in the year through September 2027, with adjusted basic earnings per share forecast to come in at between 2.20 euros and 2.40 euros.

For fiscal 2026, it reported adjusted basic earnings per share of 2.42 euros.
