TeraWulf Gets Credit Support from Google for Debt Financing to Develop Data Center Campus

By Kelly Cloonan

Google has agreed to provide credit support for TeraWulf as the digital-infrastructure company looks to secure debt financing to develop one of its data center campuses.

The campus, located in Hawesville, Ky., has $19 billion in contracted lease commitments with Anthropic, TeraWulf said.

TeraWulf said it has also signed a definitive engineering, procurement and construction agreement with Fluor Enterprises for the development of the campus.

The agreements aim to strengthen the project's financing framework and construction capacity, TeraWulf said.

"Google's credit support strengthens our ability to secure competitive project financing, while Fluor's engineering and construction capabilities expand our capacity to execute at scale," said TeraWulf's Chief Executive Paul Prager.

Alphabet, Google's parent company, has a senior unsecured debt rating of AA+ by S&P Global Ratings and Aa2 by Moody's.

"Strong investment-grade credit support strengthens the project's financing profile and our ability to pursue competitive long-term debt," said TeraWulf's Chief Financial Officer Patrick Fleury.
